Language and Culture Studies Offered at IIEF, University of Strasbourg (Option II)
French language and culture courses offered at the Institut International d'Etudes Françaises (IIEF), Université de Strasbourg Marc Bloch (UMB). Option II students attend courses on French language and culture at the IIEF, which is part of the Université Marc Bloch.
The program begins in September with a four-week intensive "stage" which is designed to immerse students in the language and to prepare them for more advanced university study. Students are placed in beginning, intermediate or advanced sections, depending on their level of French. Following the "stage," students continue language study at the IIEF (6 credits). They may also choose to attend up to six one-credit courses offered at the IIEF for international students in such areas as history, art history, literature, translation, politics and phonetics. In certain cases students also sign up for selected courses at the Université Marc Bloch and the Université Robert Schuman.
