Most participants will choose a two-city program experience, which includes pre-semester language immersion in Cuenca, Ecuador, followed by a semester of coursework in Santiago de Chile. Living arrangements in both cities are provided by local host families, with special efforts made to place students based on personal preferences.

Located high in the Andes, Cuenca is a friendly mid-sized city known for its thriving art scene. Nearby El Cajas, a national park that with waterfalls and Inca ruins, offers the opportunity for camping, hiking and exploring the Andes. While in Cuenca, you’ll attend intensive language classes at the CEDEI center. The center is situated in the beautiful colonial heart of the city, blocks away from the central plaza, Parque Calderon.

Santiago de Chile
Santiago de Chile is currently enjoying a period of uninterrupted economic growth. You’ll marvel at the way in which shopping malls and high-rise architecture rise dramatically against the backdrop of the mystical Andes Mountains. The city is home to several universities, and its cultural options on par with any cosmopolitan world city.
