Option II: Studies at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM)

This option is for students with strong Spanish language skills who wish to take all or most of their courses at a Spanish University. The Universidad Autonoma Madrid (UAM) is a leading Spanish university, and is ranked among the 25 best Universities in the world (The New York Times considers it at the very top)

Under the supervision of the academic director of Syracuse University in Spain, Option II students can select from a broad range of courses in the humanities including Hispanic philosophy, literature, art history, philosophy, and history. Click for more information.

You also have access to UAM services and facilities, such as libraries, computer labs and sports, and to tutoring services subsidized by the SU Madrid program.

Option II: Engineering Studies at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid

The Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1996, although the majority of its schools were founded in the 18th and 19th centuries. Each of them maintained its independence until being grouped together to form the UPM.

It is no exaggeration to state that over one and a half centuries a great part of the history of Spanish technology has been written by the Schools of Architecture and Engineering. Syracuse University in Madrid students generally enroll in one of three schools (Aeronautica, Industriales and Telecomunicaciones) which cover most fields that any engineering student studying in the U.S. would need.
