Field Study

Durham Castle

Field Study

SU Abroad London field experience includes two optional pre-semester seminars, weekend trips designed for all program students, and field study tied to specific courses.

Signature Seminars

"Auld Reekie" and "The Pale and Beyond" are intensive ten-day seminars, each of which carries three upper-division credits. The three credits will be counted as part of the nineteen maximum credits earned for the London semester. Remember you must enroll in a minimum of twelve credits for the semester, not including the seminar. Both seminars are limited enrollment. Select one of the following for additional information:

Course-Related Field Study

Several courses have a substantial field study component and thus carry a course fee to cover either theatre/museum entry costs or weekend study tours related to class material. Please see course descriptions for more information.

Some courses offer optional field study opportunities. Students who elect to participate sign up and pay in London for travel/accommodation costs with a credit card.

All-School Field Experiences

In addition to the course- and seminar-related trips mentioned above, there are also several extracurricular field trips which are open to all SU London Program students. Please see the All-School Trips page for more information.

Additional Opportunities

The SULP staff also help students find and book excursions and unique real adventures not on the tourist trail, including "Weekend in Wales" and outdoor trips into the Coastal National Park away from the crowds and city bustle.
