What You Need to Know
The SU Florence Fine Arts Program offers an exceptional range of courses on the history of Italian art and architecture from the Etruscans to the 20th century. Nearly all courses offer instruction on site in Florence and elsewhere in Italy, including field study in Sicily, Rome, Venice, Mantua, Pompeii, Paestum, Ravenna, and other regions and cities.
With a faculty of 10 art historians, the program offers the most comprehensive English-language fine arts curriculum in Italy, and features introductory, intermediate, and advanced classes. Introductory classes are for students who have taken at least one art history course or have the instructor’s consent; and advanced are for students who have taken at least two art history courses or have special permission.
